Kostov Prayer Letter – December 2005 – www.kmission.netfirms.com

Hello Friends! We’re getting busier--we have had a full three months starting with September. Our goal – to continue to build ministry teams in the area of mission to youth and orphans, religious freedom, and church reformation – seems to be growing clearer. Our connection with the Welsh church is also growing stronger. We believe that relationships founded in Christ and the application of His Word are fundamental for the Christians of the last times. Therefore, we must live lives worthy of the blood of Jesus and call other Christians to serve God with all they have. We can see this direction growing stronger in what we do here, although it cannot be easily calculated with the usual way of doing statistics.

Events

Trip around Bulgaria in the beginning of October. Yavor and I traveled the country as usual – starting south from Sofia then going east to Burgas, on the Black Sea, then north to Varna, also on the black sea and then west back again through Dobrich and Shumen (which are towns in the NE corner of the country) then back to Sofia. Since gas here is quite expensive  --1.70 Bulgarian leva per liter (which would amount to about $3.90 a gallon) we tried to get done as many things as possible during our meetings. We talked to Christian leaders and people interested in the youth worker training program we will be conducting in March; presented our upcoming books, recruited people for the Prophetic School and encouraged them in their Christian walk with Jesus.

Fall VBS with the Welsh Women’s Team. The visit of the eight sisters from Wales, from churches in Llanelli and Cardiff, was a powerful time. We had praise and worship in the two orphan homes near Vidin. Besides the times of prayer and testimonies, the ladies organized classes on music, arts and crafts, and games with the kids. Buglarian and Welsh volunteers joined together in the time with the kids from the home. The presence of the Holy Spirit was so evident and heavy that we continued our time of fellowship and prayer in Vidin as well.

Prophetic School 2 in Sofia. A Prophetic School is a three-day (9 meetings) event of teachings from the Bible. During this time we seek to train Christians for a closer walk with Jesus and a bolder outlook on their gifts and calling in the Lord. Stuart Watkins, our brother and co-worker from Wales, myself and Yavor are at the core of the teaching-training activities, yet it is the Holy Spirit who moves to equip His people. Stuart and I teach, Yavor leads worship. We had about twenty attendants from all over the country but mainly from a town in the southern part of Bulgaria – Pazardzhik. It was a good time of teaching, prayer, fellowship and encouragement. Toward the end of the school the presence of God was so strong that during the last session, while giving their testimonies, people could not stand on their feet. They had to sit down or even lie on the floor right after they gave their testimony! People testified of their hearts being touched and refreshed by God. Tes, baby Noah and Dan and Matt also attended several sessions. The boys were convicted by the Holy Spirit of old sins and they went running to mom to confess and repent! We intend to continue with this format of training the saints for the work of the ministry. Our next School will be at the end of February, 2006.

Prophetic Conference in Dobrich, Bulgaria, failed (Nov. 21). Unfortunately, the group who had invited us for training rejected our ministry in the town of Dobrich. The schedule was set for three days with prayer in the morning and public meetings in the evening. The first evening we had dinner together with a part of the group (about 10 people). Stuart, Yavor and I shared how we saw our time together and that we felt they were at a new beginning and needed vision and direction (we had previously meet with a part of this group on a different occassion and connected with them). The next morning, after the prayer meeting, the leaders of the group advised us that what we have to offer is not needed for their spiritual unity and build-up. They informed us that they had vision, direction, and all the tools necessary to make it. The spiritual leader of this group of Christians made a point that they “had seen it all” and that we did not have anything new to offer. To make a long story short—we left after that morning’s prayer meeting with the feeling that these guys’ spiritual pride was more dear to them than what the Lord wanted to do during our time together. We rescheduled our trip to Iasi, Romania, and extended it by two days.

Prophetic Conference in Iasi, Romania (Nov.22-28). We (Yavor, Stuart and I) had an awesome time in Iasi, and even on the way there, in the car. The Holy Spirit was present with us while we were driving for 7 hours through Romanian territory. We felt God speaking about revival in Romania and that He had intentions no man can thwart. Stuart even saw angels accompanying the car! The time with the dear Romanian saints in Iasi was remarkable as usual. We held a prophetic conference on Fri and Sat and God’s Spirit was moving  and encouraging the believers to hold on to His Word and put it into practice; and prepare themselves for the supernatural visitation of God. We also took part in their Sunday evening public service and the leaders’ meeting on Monday. Tuesday, Nov. 28 our team was back in my VW on the way to Sofia.

Other work

Family news. Noah grows heavier by the day, approaching 9 kilograms! Tooth #3 is making its way out and accordingly wants to try new things to eat! Danny and Matty are well, having become voracious readers this semester in home-schooling. It will be a challenge finding books for them to read! They will have two drawings each at the Christmas exhibition, December 17th, at the local drawing school. They have also started private lessons in Bulgarian – to the relief of Teresa, it’s enough teaching them in English!

We always appreciate your prayers and your love.
